Today as we begin this Bible Plan that will walk
through many of the questions and concerns people may have about inviting their
friends to church, we're going to look at the 'WHY' behind it. Why is the
message of Jesus so important?
Well the truth is that if we really believe what we
believe, there are people in our lives who are spiritually lost and doomed to
eternal pain without Jesus in their life. Maybe we've just gotten so
comfortable in church that we've forgotten that being lost is not just a
buzzword - it's a grim reality for many of our friends. That reality is that
they are not equipped to handle the pressures of this world, and they are
doomed for the judgment of the next. So maybe this Bible plan is a wake up call
for some of us - our friends are not just 'unchurched.' They're broken, lost,
confused, helpless, and in need of the very thing that we have.
We can't forget that the message of Jesus has
always come with a sense of incredible urgency.
This is because the Bible tells us that our life is
but a breath and at any moment we could be gone. This thought should disturb us
so muchthat we NEED to invite our friends to meet Jesus!
Practical Steps // Take 5-10 minutes this morning
and try to remember what it was like to live without the power of Jesus in your
life. Try to put yourself in the shoes of someone who is helpless.
