WHY?
We touched on this in
Day 3, but one reason to tithe is that if we all tithed together, there would
be MORE than enough resources to accomplish what God has called us to. We'll
read a verse here in a minute that shows the priests (pastors) of that time
actually getting questioned because the tithes were so large - what a concept!
Imagine how many
hungry people we could feed and how many lost people could meet Jesus if we all
did our part and stayed faithful?
A study was done a few
years back that stated that we could end world hunger in a matter of months if
the entirety of the church tithed. Think about that! This is how it was
supposed to work, and instead of churches closing down every year, we were
meant to expand and reach every corner of the earth. That is what would happen
if the church would rise up and be obedient in what God has called us to.
Why do we tithe? Because what we are
capable of as a church would be limitless!
